Navis engaged Thought Source to lead technical diligence, conduct customer validation, and support post-acquisition onboarding and brand integration following the acquisition of Jade Logistics’ Master Terminal platform.

Navis is a global provider of logistics software solutions for container and mixed cargo terminals, enabling high-performance operations at leading ports worldwide.

As part of its expansion strategy into mixed cargo terminal operations, Navis acquired the Master Terminal business from New Zealand-based Jade Logistics. The Master Terminal platform supported a broad range of cargo types and was used across diverse global terminals. Thought Source played a pivotal role—initially engaged for technical due diligence, we were retained to conduct pre-deal customer interviews and later to lead core aspects of integration. Our involvement spanned engineering assessment, customer validation, system transition, and brand alignment.

• Evaluate the technical maturity and architectural soundness of the Master Terminal platform

• Validate customer satisfaction and product-market fit across key global terminal operators

• Provide Navis with insight on engineering processes, scalability, and support models

• Support onboarding of Jade staff, systems, and service operations

• Oversee marketing, website, and media brand transitions post-acquisition

Phase 1: Technical Due Diligence

We led a detailed assessment of Master Terminal’s architecture, codebase, infrastructure, deployment model, and engineering practices. This included a review of product scalability, team structure, technical debt, and roadmap maturity.

Phase 2: Customer Validation

Thought Source conducted structured interviews with major customers—including operators in Qatar, New Zealand, and Europe—to gather direct insights on platform strengths, operational challenges, and support experience. This helped confirm user sentiment, product-market fit, and informed integration planning.

Phase 3: Integration Execution

Post-acquisition, we worked closely with the Jade team in Christchurch, New Zealand to facilitate the transition into Navis. This included onboarding staff, separating hosting and internal systems, and managing the rollout of updated marketing materials, websites, and product videos under the Navis brand.

Navis successfully expanded its product portfolio to address mixed cargo terminals, with Master Terminal continuing to serve global operations under the Navis banner. Thought Source’s support de-risked the transaction, brought clarity to customer sentiment, and ensured continuity across staff, systems, and go-to-market materials.
